Towns of Akarra
There are four main towns in Akarra: Hope, Faith, Joy and Serenity.
Hope
…born of determination
The humble town of Hope was the first settlement ever built in Akarra. It was destroyed in a war between the Menit and Iwid races. The humans of Hope were forced to return to the southern lands, but when the war was over, the townsfolk returned to rebuild Hope and have lived their simple lives in its new location ever since.
Faith
…ruled by a tyrant
Faith was a once beautiful little mountain town, but then, a ghostly spirit appeared and began killing people. At first, the villagers believed the spirit was coming from a haunted house, so they burnt it to the ground, in order to kill the ghostly demon.
Unfortunately the villagers were wrong, and people continued to be slaughtered. In time, they were forced to burn down the whole town, and move on to a new location to the the north, near a great lake.
However, the villagers ran out of funds during the rebuilding process, and couldn’t pay Hamel for his help and materials. A few days later, a man came along with countless riches and made a bargain with the townsfolk: he would pay to finish the town if he could serve as their King. Seeing the riches, Hamel agreed to finish the town, as well as build a palace for the King.
Little did Hamel know this King was a lair and a cheat. He never paid for the construction, and instead hired many guards to protect himself and his palace. The villagers were relieved to have their town back, and reluctantly pay the King his absurd taxes, just so they can keep their homes.
Joy
…a jewel below the ground
Joy is a secret underground society, located entirely beneath the soil. It was intended to become a famous mining town. Unfortunetly for its citizens, the mines became useless when they accidentally dug up an ancient bug, which survives by eating metals. There were many campaigns raged against the creatures, but they eventually claimed the mine for themselves.
The citizens managed to seal the mines with a spell, to keep the horrid creatures from breaking out and entering their town. To this day, the town still sells various items created from metals that most have never heard of, but it never reached the fame and wealth envisioned by its founders.
Serenity
…where there is peace
A beautiful city with an amazing array of buildings, Serenity is an architectural masterpiece. This city is home to all three races, Human, Menit and Iwid. Its citizens have have decided to form an alliance with each other rather then war senselessly. But underneath the surface, some still secretly despise those from the other factions.
