There are a few reasons that the dragons look so different from Akarra's style. Akarra has a fairly original style of pixel art.
-Akarra's colors are not that intense and vivid! They are much less vibrant, more realistic and generally a bit darker
-Akarra's sprites have a single pixel width solid black outline. While the dragons look fine on their own, ingame everything else that isn't part of the map has a solid black outline.
-A distinctive characteristic of Akarra's sprites is the eye. It is a single pixel of a vivid color that contrasts from the rest of the sprite--usually blue, red, or green or something. While you had a yellow pixel eye (I would say make each dragon have a differently colored eye though, something that stands out) on the larger ones, shrinking the dragon caused the graphic to lose many of its finer details such as the eye. I'd suggest going over the shading a bit again, the mouth/face and the tail, and redefining some of the edges.
Aside from some hopefully helpful criticisms, there looks to be some pretty good pixel art in this topic! Unfortunately I have been busy with my own projects and have not been able to play much... but if anyone wants pixeling advice, I can give some... not that I know much about it though.
